Medical Body Donation

Comprehensive Funeral, Cremation and Donation Services
Most medical schools, and several private organizations, accept donations of whole bodies for use in research and education. We work in close coordination with several programs, and usually can place a donation for those who are interested in doing so.
Most of these donor-accepting programs offer a no-cost cremation option following the donation; alternatively, you can request the return of the cremated remains.

FAQ's About Medical Donation
This selfless act allows others to learn, heal, and discover — helping advance medicine, education, and the care of future generations.
What is medical body donation?
Medical body donation is a generous and meaningful decision to give one’s body to science after passing. These donations are used by medical schools and researchers to advance education, improve surgical training, and develop new medical treatments. Through this act of giving, donors continue to help others long after their lifetime — a lasting legacy of compassion and learning.
Can I still have a funeral or memorial service?
Yes, absolutely. Many families choose to hold a memorial service, celebration of life, or religious ceremony before or after the donation takes place. Once the medical study is complete, cremated remains are often returned to the family, allowing for burial, scattering, or a private remembrance. We’re here to help you plan a meaningful service that honors your loved one’s life and their extraordinary gift.
Who can become a donor?
Most adults can choose to become donors, regardless of age or background. In some cases, specific medical conditions or circumstances may limit acceptance, but each program evaluates donors individually. Our caring staff can help you connect with local medical institutions and explain the process clearly.
How does the process work?
When an individual passes away, our team works with the chosen medical program to complete the necessary documentation and arrange transportation. Every step is handled with dignity and professionalism, ensuring the donor’s wishes are honored. After the research or educational study is complete, the cremated remains are respectfully returned to the family, if desired.
Is there any cost to the family?
In most cases, medical body donation programs cover the costs associated with transportation to the medical facility and the donation process itself. Some families may choose additional services or memorials, which we will discuss openly and transparently. We believe every family deserves both clarity and compassion during this time.
Why do families choose medical body donation?
Families often find great comfort in knowing their loved one continues to make a difference. Donation can be a powerful way to give back, inspire hope, and support future generations of doctors, nurses, and researchers. Many families describe this decision as a final act of kindness — one that turns loss into lasting purpose.
