Terry Lee Vaughn Obituary (1953 - 2018)

Terry Lee Vaughn, 65, passed away Tuesday, November 6, 2018, in Friendswood, Texas, surrounded by his loving family. He will best be remembered for his faith, love, and generosity. Terry was born August 1, 1953, in Roswell, New Mexico, to Sidney and Anita Vaughn. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Henry and Matilda Vaughn, Guy Mayes, Ken and Helen Watanabe, and in-laws Hudson and Norma Hatfield. Terry is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Cathy Hatfield Vaughn; sons Nathan Lee, Adam Lee (Nairn), Gabriel Lee, and Benjamin Lee, and daughter Hannah Lee; parents Sidney and Anita Vaughn; brother Bryan Lee Vaughn (Leah), sisters Karen Lee Vaughn and Robin Lee Vaughn Hughes; grandsons Sidney Lee, Professor, and Malakai Lee; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, countless good friends, employees, and fishing buddies. In 1957, Terry's family settled in the Houston area. He was an alumnus of the South Houston High School Class of 1971. One of his many great accomplishments was graduating from the Houston Bible Training Work and being ordained as a Church of Christ minister in May 1978. After being ordained, Terry moved his growing family to Brookhaven, MS, where he served as the minister for Mt. Zion Church of Christ from 1978-1982. Following his time in the ministry, Terry moved back to the Houston area where he began a new career in mobile homes and recreational vehicle sales. The first Terry Vaughn RVs location opened on August 1, 1988, in Baytown, Texas, and later he expanded to Houston, Spring and Alvin locations. The family plans to continue operating the business with the same standards and values established by Terry. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, December 1, 2018, at 10 a.m., South Main Baptist Church, 4300 East Sam Houston Parkway South, Pasadena, TX 77505. In true Terry fashion, flowers that are donated will be shared with local nursing homes and shut-ins following his Celebration of Life, or a donation can be made in Terry's memory to NamikangoMission.org.
