Shawada Shelton Barnes Obituary (1976 - 2015)

Life's Refection 'The Lord is my life and my salvation, whom shall I fear.' Psalms 27:1 Shawada Shelton Barnes was born October 29, 1975 in Sacramento, CA to Patricia McAllister Shelton and the late Jesse Lee Shelton, Sr., who preceded her in death and the blessing of a second father, Lenis E. Provo, who reared her and remained by her side until her death. She confessed hope in Christ at an early age at New Hebron Missionary Baptist Church in Aberdeen, MS and later joined Mt Carmel Baptist Church in Dickinson, TX. She is a graduate of the Houston Learning Academy and later attended University of Houston. She was employed by Entrust as a Cobra Administrator until her health required that she retire. On May 28, 2005, she was united in Holy Matrimony to Cedric Barnes and the were blessed with two beautiful children, Cedric Jr. and Patricia Amore'. Cedric remained faith to God, his vows and his wife despite the odds until her death at the Altus Hospice Center in Sugarland, TX August 12, 2015. Shawada leaves to cherish her memory her devoted and loving husband; her adorable children; her brother, Jesse Shelton, Jr. (Shondolyn); her mother in law, Wanda Lewis and brother in law, Frederick Lewis; god parents, Jean and Gregory Provo; aunts uncles, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends. The remains Shawada Barnes will lie in state Saturday, August 22, 2015 beginning at 10:00 AM followed by a Service for the Celebration of Her Life at 11:00 AM. Both Services will be held at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church 2920 Hwy 3 Dickinson, TX 77539. Burial will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery Webster, TX 77573.
