Rudolph "Rudy" Farias Jr. passed away October 14, 2020 at his home in South Houston surrounded by his family.\nHe is preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph Farias Sr. and Guadalupe Rizo Farias, son Rudolph Farias III, and sister Anita Silva.\nHe is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Barbara Ponce Farias, son Ismael "Mark" Farias, daughter Monique Sellers, sister Carmen Hyde, and sister Josie Hoot. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.\nRudolph was born and raised in Texas City, TX where he attended Texas City High School before serving in the United States Navy. He worked at Amoco in Texas City as an instrument technician and attended College of the Mainland simultaneously. After retirement from Amoco in 1999, Rudolph worked part-time and spent many glorious golf days at Bayou Golf Course in his hometown.\nHe was an active member of St. Mary of the Miraculous Medal parish and served as an ACTS brother whom partook in several bible study groups. When he experienced a great spiritual awakening in 1989 after his pilgrimage to Medjugorje, Yugoslavia, Rudy vowed to continue his divine journey with Christ. He served, along with his wife, as a Eucharistic minister and enjoyed numerous hours in adoration of the blessed sacrament.\nA mass will be held at St. Mary of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church 1604 9th Avenue North in Texas City on Friday November 6, 2020 at 11:00 AM. Interment will be held at the Veteran's Memorial Cemetery located at 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive Houston, TX at 1:30 PM.
