Roy Malone, Jr. Obituary (1930 - 2023)

William Roy Malone, Jr. was born in Rayville, Louisiana on September 23, 1930, to William Roy Malone, Sr. and Annie Mae Alexander. He passed away Saturday January 7, 2023, at the age of 92 years old in Webster, Texas. In 1949, Roy met his soulmate, Mary Ann Demrod, to whom he was married to for 67 years until her death in 2017. Roy and Mary went on to have one daughter, Gail Lynn Musgrave, and are now reunited with the Lord in Heavenly peace. Roy was a longtime resident of Dickinson, TX and Texas City, TX. He had been a member of the United Association for over 73 years. He loved his dog, Penny, and spent many days making sure she was pampered and well fed. Roy Malone, Jr. was preceded in death by his father, William Malone, his mother, Annie Mae, his brothers, Paul and James Malone, his sisters, Elizabeth Malone Dudley, and Lillian Malone Whitworth, his nephew, who Roy viewed as a son, Paul Wayne Malone (Buster) and Son-In- Law, William Howard Musgrave, Sr. Roy's memory lives on with his daughter, Gail Musgrave, and life partner Michael Prisock along with his three grandchildren, Shelia Isaacson and husband Eric Isaacson, Bill Musgrave, Jr. and wife Beth Musgrave, and Dr. Jennifer Kelly. Roy is survived by his nine great-grandchildren: Austin Musgrave, Daniel Musgrave, Nicholas Musgrave, Joshua LaGuardia, Andrew Isaacson, Ashleigh Isaacson, Katherine McLelland and husband Austin McLelland, Madelyn St. Clair and husband Shane St. Clair, and Grant Kelly. Roy is also survived by his two great-great- granddaughters: Harper and Emery McLelland. His legacy will carry on forever reminding us that we control our attitudes. We choose to live a life of meaningful acts of love and service, like Christ modeled for us.
