Louis François Cuny-Valdetaro Obituary (1995 - 2020)

Louis Francois Cuny-Valdetaro, known preferably as Francois, passed away in his home on August 18th, 2020, at the age of 24. He was living with his beloved cousin, Angie, and working as an essential worker at Kroger grocery store where he was loved and respected by his coworkers. Francois was born November 29th, 1995 in Torrance, California to Corinne Cuny and Luiz Claudio Valdetaro. Francois was the youngest of three children and was cherished deeply by his sisters, Gabriela and Eliza Cuny-Valdetaro. He recently became an Uncle to little Everly, and he expressed that he didn't know it was possible to love someone that much. As a young boy in California, he spent most weekends with family and friends, and summers with family in France and Brazil. He moved to Coppell, Texas with his family when he was 7 years old and quickly became immersed into the Coppell Boy Scouts Troop 841 with his best friends. He loved the many outings he got to attend with Troop 841 and building pine wood derby cars with his Father. In middle school, he joined the school band and became a talented trombone player all the way into high school. Music came easy for him, and he quickly learned to play the guitar and drums as well. He also excelled in track and field. He spent his summers in Texas playing with his Sister Gabi, Cousin Angie, and friends. He loved going to Six-Flags and Hurricane Harbor and Francois's love for theme parks carried on into his adult life and his art. At 18 years old, Francois took an art class in college and his passion for painting was born. He inherited his natural artistic abilities from his grandmother Lia. He became a very talented self-made artist and was creating masterpieces within a couple months of learning how to paint. He started attending many art shows and was even selected to be featured in an art magazine. One of his greatest accomplishments was having his art chosen to be featured at the Courtyard Theatre in Plano, Texas. His paintings were a perfect blend and reflection of his thoughts, emotions, and imagination. He recently started expanding his artistic ability to sketching. One of his last drawings was of his beloved niece Everly. Francois enjoyed making his family laugh. He loved making impressions of different characters and saying goofy and witty things to make others smile. He had many inside jokes with his loved ones, stemming from his favorite movies and TV shows. He enjoyed playing board games, but mostly if he came out victorious. And most of the time he did. Francois loved to learn and was eager to share his knowledge with others. He fully immersed himself in anything he was passionate about. He recently found passion in cooking and wanted to complete his Harry Potter cookbook. He moved to Houston in March with his Cousin Angie and was very proud to become independent. Francois will be lovingly remembered by his Mother Corinne Cuny and her spouse Martin, his Father Luiz Claudio Valdetaro and his spouse Liane, his Sisters Gabriela and Eliza Cuny- Valdetaro, his roommate and cousin Angie Cuny- St Louis, his niece Everly Lewis, his brother-in-law Shane Lewis, his Step Brothers Bruno Castro and Rodrigo Roquette, his Grandmothers Christiane Cuny and Lia Valdetaro, and his many Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins in France, Brazil, Canada, and the United States. He is predeceased by his Grandfathers Pierre Cuny and Oscar Valdetaro, and his Uncle Guy St Louis. The family requests that in lieu of a funeral you spend time with your family and friends and play a board game in his honor. And in lieu of flowers, they ask for donations to the Jed Foundation that helps teenagers and young adults with mental health, suicide prevention, and substance abuse. He was so very loved and cared for and the family would appreciate any posts about him or happy memories. "Shine On You Crazy Diamond"
