Johnny Mack Hooper Obituary (1949 - 2021)

On January 24, 1949, Johnny Mack Hooper was born to Bessie Mae Mitchell and Johnny P. Hooper in Logansport, Louisiana. He accepted Christ in 1980 until his death. He was called into the ministry in 1982. He preached his first sermon March 31, 1985 at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church titled "A Good Man in a Bad Fix." Johnny Mack Hooper is preceded in death by his parents, Bessie Mae Mitchell and Johnny P. Hooper; siblings, Willie J. Hooper, Bessie Mae White, Lonnie B. Hooper, J. C. Brackett and Johnnie Joyce Hooper. He leaves to cherish his memories his devoted wife, Elizabeth Nell Hooper; his children, Patrick Shon Hooper, Sr. (Mellenaise); Johnny Mack Hooper II (Elisha); Sedrick Vashaun Hooper (Lakeisha); Derrick DeShaun Hooper; sisters, Helen Brumley (Floyd) and Mary Jean Hooper; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. There will be a public visitation held on Thursday, July 8, 2021 from 5-7 pm located at Carnes Funeral Home. Burial to follow at Houston National Cemetery on Friday, July 9, 2021.
