Jonnie Kay O'Donnel Newberry Obituary (1959 - 2020)

Johnnie Kay O'Donnell Newberry, age 60, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 11, 2020, at her home in Houston Texas. Born in Warrington, England, she was the daughter of John and Christine O'Donnell. Johnnie is a 1977 graduate of Klein High School and a 1981 graduate of the licensed nursing program at North Harris County College. She continued her education further in the field of dentistry and was employed as a Registered Dental Assistant at North Cypress Dental. Johnnie was a member of Journey to Damascus, Ladybugs Memorial Northwest Garden Club and she participated in Therapy Pet Pals of Texas with her dog Cooper. She enjoyed gardening, running and walking, counted cross stitch, shopping with friends, spending time with her children and her dog. She will be lovingly remembered for her fun, witty personality and her beautiful infectious smile. Johnnie is survived by her mother Christine (Duncan) McDonald, brother Daniel O'Donnell, sister Shannon Tobler, daughter Kelly (Don) Johnson, son John David Leffingwell, Goddaughters Tania and Madison, nieces and nephews, and her loving, loyal canine companion, Cooper. She is predeceased by her father John O'Donnell. A memorial service will be held on March 14, 2020 at 11:00AM at St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church, Mary Chapel located at 7810 Cypresswood Drive, Spring Texas, 77379. She has donated her body to Baylor College of Medicine Willed Body Program to help find a cure for cancer.
