Jearl Dean Keefer Obituary (1940 - 2014)

Jearl Dean Keefer went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 19, 2014. He leaves behind his loving wife, Rhonda Bishop Keefer. Jearl served his country in the United States Army as a member of the Rangers and of the 101st Airborne "Screaming Eagles". He retired from the military after twenty years. Jearl had just sent more then a month in the hospital. He had been fighting cancer and pneumonia, which caused his lungs to collapse. After a courageous fight, he lost the battle to a heart attack. Jearl is survived by one biological child, Melissa Salmon, but he was also a father to Jerry Vaughn and Kenneth Richards, whom he helped raise. When he married Rhonda, Jerral accepted her four children as his own; Tanya Strange, James Stell, Andrew and Michael Justus. The couple later went on to adopt four more children, Kayla, Jasmyne, James, and Brandon Keefer. Other family members include grandchildren, Tyler Clagon, Kyle, Keefer, Keyanna, Jerry, Breyden and Ashleigh Salmon, Serenity and William Justus, Ace Rose, Patience Barber, and Constance Persons, father-in-law, Howard bishop; in-laws, Paul Salmon, Gloria Vaughn, Lauren Stell, Chrissy and Kayla Justus, Stand & Betty Terry, Edward & Barbara Bishop, and Debbie Lewis. Military Services are 1:30 Friday, October 31, 2014 at the Houston National Cemetery in Houston, Texas. The United States Army will provide Military Honors and present the Pall of Honor.
