Glynn Francis Theriot Obituary (1940 - 2022)

Glynn Francis Theriot passed away after a brief illness with pneumonia on July 6, 2022, at Harbor Hospice in Houston, Texas. He was 82. Glynn was born January 7, 1940, to Irene Williams Theriot and Norman Joseph Theriot in Houma, Louisiana. His father worked for Humble Oil and the job took them to many states along the Gulf Coast. Glynn had fond memories of his school days in Dickinson, Texas. He graduated from Industrial High School in Vanderbilt, Texas where he played basketball for the Cobras. He attended Sam Houston State University, majoring in accounting. He started working for Houston Lighting and Power in downtown Houston in 1962 in the Plant Accounting Department before finishing his career as a Fleet Analyst for HL& P's South Houston Transportation Department. He retired July 31, 1995, to enjoy a less-structured life in the city of South Houston with his beloved wife, Frances Ann Brown. Glynn enjoyed fishing, traveling, sports, and his occasional gambling trips. Glynn was preceded in death by his parents Norman and Irene Theriot; nephew Keith Alan Theriot; nephew-in-law Nathan Eymard; father and mother-in-law Paul F. and Delpha Brown; and sister-in-law Charline Brown Kelley, her husband James G. Kelley, Sr. and their daughter Valarie Kelley Jones. He is survived by his loving wife Frances; his brother Norman J. Theriot and wife Loretta of Houston; niece Deborah Eymard and fiancee Tim Duff of League City; nephew Norman Theriot, Jr. and wife Tina of North Carolina; Yvette Fairchild of Houston; Dr. Kimberly Kelley of Kendalia, Texas; James G. Kelley, Jr. and husband Mason of Dallas Texas; brother-in-law Billy Ray Brown and wife Karen Lee of South Houston; nephew Thomas Allen "Tab" Brown and fiancee Stephanie Smouse Brown of Pasadena; as well as numerous cousins, great nieces and nephews, and friends. Frances would like to thank all the family, friends, and former co-workers for surrounding them with their thoughts, prayers, and love during his final days. A special thank you to Karen Cloran Mace for being a special friend, extended family member, and helper to them for as long as they can remember. Glynn endeared himself to everyone he met and will be greatly missed. Glynn will be cremated and his ashes scattered in the Gulf of Mexico to travel to all the exotic places he was never able to visit. A Celebration of Life is pending. Offerings in his memory can be made to the Alzheimer's Association, St Jude's, or the charity of your choosing in his name.
