Alexander Mathis, Jr. Obituary (1947 - 2012)

Alexander Mathis Jr. "Kojack" was born on September 8, 1947 to Alexander Mathis Sr. and Anor Lee Dorsey Mathis in Galveston, TX. The family later moved to La Marque, TX. He lived in California for many and decided to return home to Texas. He passed away Sunday, September 2, 2012. He is preceded in death by his parents, a cousin Janice Fears, and a nephew, Keith Bishop. He is survived by his son, Ryan Jones and wife, Kay Adams; grandchildren, Chander, Kayliyah, Deja, Ryannah and Josh; a great-granddaughter, Amiyah; sisters, Patricia Jackson, Beatrice Bishop, and Florence Butler; aunt, Evelyn Booker; nieces, Terri Ciego and, Kenyari Jones; nephew, Kurt Bishop; cousins, Agnes White, Jenkin Jefferson and Larnette Daniels. Alexander; dear friends Sadie Lundy and Miss Lane and a host of family and friends that loved him dearly. There will be a Public Viewing Saturday, September 8, 2012 at 10:00 AM followed by a Celebration of Life Service beginning at 11:00 AM. Both Services will be held at Carnes Funeral Home 3100 Gulf Freeway Texas City, TX. 77591. Memorials may be sent to the Funeral Home.
