Alan Ray Decker born February 18, 1962, 60 years old, passed away on March 20, 2022, at his residence in Galveston, Texas. \r\n \r\nAlan born in Pasadena, Texas, was the son of Alfred & Juanita Decker. He graduated from J. Frank Dobie High School in 1980. He was employed at numerous places during his working career. He worked in the offshore oil drilling and exploration field for a few years. He worked in Operations at what is now the Valero Refinery in Houston for a time, before moving on to a new field of surgical instrument sharpening and repair. \r\n\r\nHe briefly worked for a surgical instrument repair company to learn the field, and in 2000, he opened his own mobile - surgical instrument repair company, called CareSharp. He served as the president of CareSharp and specialized in optimizing a surgeon's performance through the use of precision aligned, sharp, and sparkling clean surgical instrumentation. \r\n \r\nHe attended several churches, but primarily Sagemont Church earlier in life, and then Lakewood Church later in life. He enjoyed rock and roll music, motocross racing/motorcycles, boating, fishing, and hunting. He will certainly be remembered for having a beautiful mind. Alan could convince most anyone that he was an expert in nearly any subject that was discussed. He had a very outgoing personality and was very passionate about the things he held dear.\r\n \r\nHe is survived by his brother Mark Decker and his wife Diana, and his nieces Michaella and Victoria. He was predeceased by his parents Alfred & Juanita Decker.\r\n \r\nA celebration of Alan's life with close friends and family will be scheduled in the near future. Alan had many friends and family that will miss him very much.
