Ronald J. Theriot Obituary (1930 - 2016)

Ronald J. Theriot, 86 of Groves, Texas went to be with our Lord and Savior on December 20, 2016 at his daughter's home. Ronald was born on December 3, 1930 in Port Arthur, Texas to Julius J. Theriot and Lelia. Ronald was a lifelong resident of this area and a member of St. Peters Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He graduated from St. James High School in Port Arthur, Texas. Ronald attended Loyola University in New Orleans, a member of the basketball and track teams. He held a Business degree from Lamar in the first 4 year program graduation exercises in 1953. Ronald worked at Texaco for a brief period in the Product Control Lab and from there in went into business Theriot Appliance in Port Arthur, Texas for more than 20 years. He worked as a local real estate agent and then retired from the State of Texas as an Accounts Examiner and Tax Auditor. Ronald was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Betty Vicknair Theriot. Survivors include, Donna Victoria of San Antonio, Cathy Meeks and husband Wayne of Hampshire, Laura Theriot Durkin and husband Robert of Vidor, and KK Gloede and husband Russ of Groves. He had 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He decided to donate his body to science, in an effort to help others. The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston McGovern Medical School.
