Hermena Jetty Obituary (1958 - 2022)

Hermena was born to a love-filled union of Percy and Rebecca Jhingree on March 12, 1958 in Berbice, Guyana, South America. God called his daughter, Hermena, to his Heavenly Kingdom on March 28, 2022. Hermena was a loving, kindhearted, talented and generous Christian woman who always had an encouraging word for her family and friends. She loved caring for others so much that she became a Registered Nurse and later, her success led to the astute business woman we all knew and loved. Hermena enjoyed traveling and experiencing various cultures. You could always find Hermena dressed in her finest robe at home, and yet, she would never pass the opportunity to dress up no matter the occasion with her famous matching jewelry. Hermena was selfless in her endeavor to providing a better life for her three children. She was an advocate for education and carried a strong work ethic instilled by her parents at an early age and her successes are a testament to this. Hermena is preceded in death by her parents, Percy and Rebecca Jhingree. Hermena's three children loved, cherished and adored her and will carry her memory in everything they do. Hermena leaves behind her daughter Alicia and husband Matthew Flores; son Lee and wife Ruth Jetty; son Dustin Jetty and Elissa Gutierrez; grandson Sebastian; and granddaughter Amelia. Hermena was loved and is survived by her partner, Brett Soucek; sister Anita and husband Mark Renza; sister Ruth and husband Deochand Singh; brother Jacob and wife Rocio Jhingree; sister Esther Simmons; brother Isaac Jhingree; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 8, 2022 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm in the Chapel of Carnes Funeral Home, 3100 Gulf Freeway, Texas City, TX 77591. Hermena's Celebration of Life Service will follow on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at 11:00am. Interment will be at Grand View Memorial Park Cemetery.
