Gus 'Mac' McIntosh Obituary (1928 - 2020)

Gus "Mac" McIntosh, 91, passed away on June 16, 2020 in Baytown, Texas. He was born December 9, 1928 in Ramseytown, North Carolina to the late William Turner McIntosh and Nellie Jane Whitson McIntosh. Gus grew up on a farm in Yancy County, North Carolina. The family later moved to Washington County, Tennessee. He enlisted in the Army on February 1946 at Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia. He was Stationed in Germany until January 1951, reenlisted and served Stateside at Fort Ord, California, January 1954. Gus became a member of the Painters Union, Monterey, California in 1954 where he had a very long and prosperous career. He retired in January 1994. Gus was an active member of American Legion Post 593 of Prunedale, California. Gus and Helga lived in California until early 2018 when they moved to Texas to be closer to family. Gus is survived by his loving wife, Helga Lewandowski McIntoch; sister-n-law, Edith Lewandowski Allnutt, numerous nieces, nephews, family members and many loving friends.
