Ella Chase Brunt Obituary (1953 - 2022)

Ella Chase Brunt departed peacefully for Heaven to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ of Nazareth on December 28, 2022 in Galveston, TX surrounded by her family. She was 69. Ella was the wife of Ted F. Brunt of Texas City, TX. They shared over 40 wonderful years of marriage together. Ella was born in Baytown, TX on June 18, 1953. She is the daughter of Robert and Arvilla Chase. She obtained many degrees of education including an Associate of Arts Degree from Lee College, Bachelor of Arts Degree with Teaching Certificate from Sam Houston State University and a Masters Degree in Education Management from The University of Houston Clear Lake. She was a faithful member and well respected elder of Island Church in Galveston, TX. She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing tennis, reading, writing and playing Sudoku and Solitaire. She was an accomplished tennis player winning many tournaments in singles, doubles and mixed doubles. She authored three books including "God Always Wins", "Mom's WODs", and "So You Want to Have a Baby?". She will be remembered for her faithfulness to her family and friends, her kindness, her compassion, her wisdom, her sense of humor and her desire to help and love people. Ella is survived by her husband, Ted F Brunt of Texas City, her daughter Brittany Belew, her son-in-law, Christopher Belew of Galveston, her grandchildren, Camden Belew and Ainsley Belew, her son Cody Brunt and her daughter-in-law, Chelsea Brunt of Texas City. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Robert and Arvilla Chase of Baytown, Tx, as well as her brothers, Edmund and Bobby Chase. A Celebration of Life Service for Ella will be held at Carnes Funeral Home in Texas City on Friday January 6th, 2023. A visitation will be held from 10am-12pm. The service will be held from 12pm-1pm. A private burial with the family will follow at San Jacinto Cemetery in Houston. The family would like to offer a special thanks to the many friends and neighbors that assisted Ella and her family the last two months. In lieu of flowers, the family requests Memorial donations in honor of Ella Chase Brunt be made to St. Jude's Children Hospital.
