Codes Burns, Jr. Obituary (1954 - 2012)

On Sunday, December 9, 2012, Codes Burns, Jr., fell asleep in the arms of the Lord at his residence. He was born May 2, 1954 in Galveston, Texas, where he attended Public School but finished high school in Florida. He worked in the Culinary Departments of many Resorts and Clubs across the country including Galveston Country Club in Galveston, TX. He is known and loved by all for his humor, laughter and high spirit. He is preceded in death by his parents, Codes, Sr. and Frances Burns; grandmother, Sarah Davis; brother, Charles Burns; niece, Alexis and his favorite uncle, Donald Davis. He is survived by his children, Sherida Marcel, Eric Gee, De Anna Fields; sister, Terri Burns; devoted brother, Darrell, Stewart, Frankie (Eva), Tracy (Jackie), Clifford (Velicia), Samuel (Jerri), and Dennis (Theresa) Burns, half- brother Mark Burns and half -sister, Terri Burns; favorite aunt, Loretta Dantzler and other aunts and uncles, Johnnie Young, Sandra Chambers (Bob), Faye Davis (Deon, Sr.), Kathy Jones, John Davis II (Betty) and Marcus Davis, Sr.; Grandchildren, great aunts, Rosa Amos, Vivian Robinson and Hallie Brown; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and many friends. Memorial Services Celebrating His Life will be held Saturday, December 22, 2012 at 12 Noon in the Chapel of Carnes Funeral Home 3100 Gulf Freeway Texas City, TX 77591.
