Seth Samuel Sharpe, Sr., 83 of was born December 7 1928 in Nashville, TN to Alford Sharpe, Sr. and Mattie McEwen Sharpe. Mr. Sharpe and his family lived in Nashville, TN, Cleveland, OH, Ontario, Canada and eventually made their home in the Galveston County area. He worked for Kelso Marine, National Life Insurance, and Nashville Bridge Company. He was a proud Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America.
Mr. Sharpe passed away on Friday February 3, 2012 at Mainland Medical Center Hospital, Texas City, TX.
Mr. Sharpe is survived by his wife, Evelyn Taylor Sharpe; children, Seleta V Bush, Seth Sharpe, Jr. (Dorothy), Brenda R. Lawrence (Willie), Juan Sharpe (Olivia ), Reginald C. Sharpe (Patricia ); 8 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 11, 2012 at 11:00 AM at La Marque Chapel Church of God in Christ, # 4 South Algeria Texas City, TX 77591. Supt Harry E. Allen, Pastor will officiate. Burial will immediately follow at Forest Park East, Webster, TX. The services have been arranged by Dorthea Jones, Funeral Director and the competent, caring staff of Carnes Funeral Home 3100 Gulf Freeway, Texas City, TX.
