            Sandra Kay Spung, 63, of Texas City, Texas passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital in Houston, Texas with daughter and son by her side. Sandra was born June 4, 1948 in Zanesville, Ohio to parents, Junior and Betty Street.

Sandra attended and later graduated from Crooksville High School in 1973.  She went to Muskingum Technical College in Zanesville, Ohio and began her nursing career as an LPN in 1975.  Sandra worked at Good Samaritan Hospital in Zanesville.  She went to Hocking Technical College in Nelsonville, Ohio and became a Registered Nurse in 1979.  She began working at Bethesda Hospital in Zanesville.  Sandra was a paramedic, Captain of the Emergency Squad and a Firefighter for the Corning Volunteer Fire Department in Corning, Ohio.  She also worked at the Lancaster-Fairfield Community Hospital in Lancaster, Ohio for many years.  Sandra became a Traveling Nurse in 1991 and moved to Texas where she worked at UTMB in Galveston, Texas for a short time and Mainland Medical Center Hospital in Texas City, Texas for several years in the Coronary Care Unit charge nurse.  Sandra was currently employed with Kelsey-Seybold Call Center as a Lead Tele-Nurse in Houston, Texas.

Sandra was an avid reader and loved to travel to such places as Costa Rica, Florida to visit Disney World, Georgia, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado as well as many other places.  She loved her family, friends, and work family very much.

She is preceded in death by brother, Drew Street; father, Pearl Street Jr.; mother, Betty Bowland Street and son, Clinton Wade Spung.

She is survived by daughter, Lora June Robinson and husband Gerald; son, Royal Arthur Spung Jr.; brother, Mark Allen Street; grandson, Colin Blake Spung and wife Thalia; granddaughters, Jessika Zander Spung and Alexis Qurin Spung; grandson, Gerald Zane Robinson; sister in law, Lisa Huffman; nieces, Rachelle, Stephanie and Christa, and nephews, Rory and Ryan.

Memorial Services will be held 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at New Life Fellowship Church, 2700 Texas Ave., Texas City, Texas 77590.

Please provide donations on Sandra’s behalf to American Heart and or American Stroke Associations.

She was a good daughter and sister, a wonderful mother and the Best Nana Ever.
