Joan Howell

After battling a lengthy illness, Joan A. (Martin) Howell, 67 of Lake Jackson, Texas passed away peacefully at Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas on January 15th, 2012.  Joan was born in Portsmouth, Ohio on November 10th, 1944 and was a resident of Jackson, Ohio until the early 80’s before moving to Texas.  Joan was the middle daughter to the late Richard Martin and Bonnie (Jenkins) Martin of Jackson, Ohio.  She is preceded in death by her parents and oldest sister Judy Lough of Peoria, Arizona.  Joan’s passion was making people laugh and living life to the fullest.  Joan enjoyed cooking for her family and friends, bird watching, and she was a big fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers rarely missing a game.  Her greatest joy was her family and friends.

 

 

Those left to cherish her loving memory are youngest sister, Jane Ortiz and husband Domingo of Darden, Tennessee, sons, Dan Morris and wife Angie (Sosa), Doug Morris and wife Angela (Pavlicek), daughters Angie and Melissa Howell all of Brazoria County and 8 grandchildren.  Grandchildren are Jonathan, Josh, Olivia, Jacob, Luke, Lindsay, Devan and T.J. all of Brazoria County Texas and a host of other relatives and friends.

 

 

The family would like to express their most sincere and special thanks to Dr. Leo Chretien, the entire staff at Brazosport Regional Health System, Methodist Hospital and A-MED home health-care for their kindness and compassion over the past several years.  In addition, the family would like to express their gratitude and love for special friends Judy and Allen Dickey, Lisa and Sam Kelly, and Barbara and Jerry Germany.  Thank you for your prayers and kindness.

Jan 22, 2012 Joan and I were young mothers, wives and friends together in the 60's. She loved her boys and was a wonderful mother. We laughed lots. So happy to see she had a wonderful life and family.She will never be far from those she loves. Pam Haynes
