Bobby Dean Fife passed away Friday, June 15, 2012, at Christus St. John Hospital, Nassau Bay, Texas. Bobby was born April 29, 1931, in Mart, Texas, to Henry and Johanna Fife.
Bobby graduated from La Marque High School in 1948. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force becoming an Air Traffic Controller with a two-year stint in Japan. After his four years of active duty, he returned home to begin a career in Instrumentation, attending San Jacinto College and University of Houston. He retired in 1996 from Phibro, Inc. (now Valero) as an Instrument and Electrical Specialist.
He is survived by his wife, Patsy; daughter, Lisa Sensat; granddaughter, Alexis Knape and husband Chad; grandson, Trey Sensat; great grandson, Brody Knape; brother, Jimmy Fife and wife Shirley; brother, Dale Fife and wife Wanda, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Bobby enjoyed sports, especially football, being a La Marque football player himself. He was a member of the Southwest Football Officials Association – Houston Chapter for 30 years, calling high school and junior college football games. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and had a true passion for animals. Bobby was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Texas City.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 20, at the First Baptist Church (1400 9th Avenue North, Texas City). Burial will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery in League City.
Pallbearers will be Jackie Childs, Alvar Eriksson, Bubba Fife, Jim Fife, John Fife, Chad Knape, Trey Sensat, and Dixie Walker, Jr.
