{Feb 11, 1952 - May 22, 2012}

Angela Farina

Angela Rita Farina, 60, passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at her home in Santa Fe, Texas.  She was born February 11, 1952 in Natchez, MS.

Angie lived in Galveston in the mid 50’s.  Her dad was the Navy recruiter and their family lived between the Farina and Ratzman families on 62nd St.  A close bond with the neighborhood existed and the Costanza family would visit the neighborhood while enroute to and from duty stations.  Angie attended schools in Texas, Hawaii, Connecticut, and while her Dad was stationed in Hollylock, Scotland, Angie graduated from the American boarding school in Lakenheath, England.

Their last duty station before retiring after 28 years in the Navy was at the Naval Weapons Station in Charleston, SC.  After two tours in Vietnam, Buddy was stationed at the Mine Force Support Group in Charleston.  It did not take long for love to bloom.  Angie and Buddy Farina were married in Charleston on December 18, 1971.  They celebrated their 40th anniversary at the family Christmas party with a surprise renewal of their wedding vows.  Judge Michael Nelson officiated with daughter, Tiffany Guayante as Maid of Honor; granddaughters, Madeline and Caroline Guayante as Bridesmaids, and son, Joey Farina as Best Man with grandsons, Darion and Michael Farina as Groomsmen, and granddaughter, Isabella Farina as Flower Girl for the wedding party.

Angie was office manager for the family business, Buddy’s Independent telephone service, but her number one enjoyment in life was being Mema to their five grandchildren, Madeline and Caroline Guayante and Darion, Michael and Isabella Farina.

Angie is also survived by husband, S. J. “Buddy” Farina, and sister, Melissa DeVore.

Visitation will be held Thursday, May 24, 2012, from 6-9 PM at Carnes Funeral Home, 3100 Gulf Freeway, Texas City, TX. Graveside Services will be Friday, May 25 at 9:30 AM at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery in Hitchcock, TX with Father John Kappe officiating.
